The Barrie Men's Forum has emerged out of a deep concern over the spiritual state of hundreds of Christian men in our community.
Huge numbers of men are disconnected from church, from their families and from other Christian men.
Early in 2007, a group of like-minded men assembled to pray, dialogue and to seek God for a solution to this pressing need. Out of their fellowship together came the plan to call as many men as possible into a forum. Here there would be the components of preaching, teaching, fellowship with other men and the opportunity of asking questions in a non-threatening environment.
The location for their gathering would not be in a church but in a neutral place, hence the Barrie Curling Club was chosen.
This has become a "School of Tyrannus" where men of different backgrounds and persuasions can meet to grow together and to encourage one another in life's journey.
